Introduction

You've probably heard of YouTube channels, but you might not have known that they can be used to create short videos. With PictoryAI, you can create your own YouTube shorts by logging into your account and using our toolset to start creating them from scratch. In this article, we'll walk through how easy it is to use PictoryAI for everything from annotating images for video projects to adding text and objects into your videos.

Logging In and Creating Your YouTube Short

First, sign up for an account. Once you’ve done that and created a new video, click on “Create Your Own Video” in the top-right corner of your screen.

Next, choose the template you want to use. There are several different templates available at this point—some with text overlays and others without them—and they all have their own unique look so it's best to choose one based on what appeals to you most visually. We recommend the "Text Overlay Template" because it has these features:

  • A black background with a blue border around it; this makes sure our text doesn't overlap onto another element when we move things around later on (like our logo). This also helps keep things organized since everything will be in its own box!

Annotating the Images of Your Short

To begin, you'll need to import your images into PictoryAI.

  • Add tags. You can use any tag that makes sense for the image and its purpose in the video. For example, if an image is used for a closeup shot of a face on screen or as part of an establishing shot where you're outside looking at something interesting behind you, then add "face" as one of its tags so that it doesn't get lost in other words/concepts related only to other objects within the wider world around us (e.g., "This is my favourite movie"). If there's no obvious meaning behind an image but it still has some uses within your story arc--like showing off how cool some technology looks--then add whatever makes sense based on what else needs covering here before moving onto something else later down this road (e.g., "This is my new phone").

Adding Text and Objects to Your YouTube Short

  • Adding text to your video:

  • Select the text tool from the main toolbar.

  • Click and drag the cursor to wherever you want your text to be located in the frame.

  • Click where you want the letter or word to start, then release it when done.

  • Adding objects to your video:

  • Select one of these options from above - either 'Add Text' or 'Add Object'. This will open up an interface where you can add anything that's supported by PictoryAI like images, videos and even animated gifs!

Putting It All Together with a Titled Outline and Background

Now that you've created your video, it's time to add some finishing touches.

  • Add a background image: In the bottom left-hand corner of your screen, click on "Background." This will bring up an options menu where you can choose from several different options for backgrounds. If necessary, adjust the size and position of any element within this menu until everything looks just right (or change it entirely).

Now you can create your own YouTube videos.
